Many people want to know what the best ab workouts are to get a flatter stomach. One of the biggest misconceptions is the belief that ab workouts will help you to lose belly fat. Most of us have varying degrees of excess body fat in the abdominal region. The big question is: What is the best way to burn off that extra stomach fat?
Most people are researching the wrong exercises and workouts to lose stubborn belly fat. They are seeking some miraculous combination of abs exercises combined into the best ab workout ever invented. They hope it will burn off their belly fat faster than you can read this article.
The truth is, ab-specific workouts do NOT burn fat off belly fat. These exercises only strengthen and tone and the underlying abdominal muscles. It is much better to focus on a full body workout. This type of training program will result in a greater metabolic rate increase and fat-burning hormonal response.
Simply doing cardiovascular workouts will not create the greatest metabolic response or hormonal response. Better yet is a more rounded program that focuses on training the entire body. This includes resistance training and multi-joint exercises in a high intensity fashion.
Remember, high intensity full body training, plua a healthy balanced diet full of nutrients is the real key secret to losing the excess stomach fat. This is a much better plan than just doing ab workouts and hoping that exercises like crunches and leg raises are going to make you lose your belly fat.
Unfortunately, the majority of the population still believes that in order to reduce belly fat, you need to do hundreds of reps of ab workouts every day. People give this type of erroneous advice every day on fitness forums.
How can an abs expert not recommend abdominal exercises? I do believe that a doing a certain amount of ab-specific exercises is beneficial. This will strengthen and tone the abdominal muscles. But, ab exercises are simply not necessary for fat loss.
Performing a body resistance training routine combined with a healthy balanced diet is the key. Most full body exercises indirectly work the abdominal and core muscles because of the stabilization required within the variations.
